Frustrating: Delayed till at least Saturday

The news is now final: I will not be flying to Antarctica today, and have been told that due to the amount of snow on the runway, I will not fly before Saturday. ALE will update me as conditions change, but for the moment patience is needed, and i need to deal with the associated frustration. I'm pretty fortunate relative to two other expeditions who have now been waiting almost two weeks to fly..... These people are quite challenged, not only is the daily delay difficult to deal with in the mind preparation, but many where hoping to reach the South Pole in time for the Amundsen Centenary celbrations on 14th December. These delays turn this goal into an impossibility, and brings with it huge disappointment. So for now it's a waiting game, and I'll be continueing on with preparations, and the spare time will give me time to update you with some interesting information on the flight to Antarctica, and this season's weather issues.... This will all be in my next post soon.... PS: I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have sent wishes and thoughts via email, the response was overwhelming and makes me feel like we are REALLY setting off on this adventure as a great team together. For those that want to communicate, you can do so via comments on the blog, which then engages other followers, or if you deire a more private channel, send emails to southpolesolo@mailasail.com Next post soon....
